2016 Paper Street Cornflower Blue
100% Mourvedre, Single Barrel Selection. Hand harvested in 2016 from the rugged terrain of the Paper Street Vineyard, this wine is full of life. These grapes were too good to blend with anything else, so our 2016 Cornflower Blue is a single-varietal. Sit back and enjoy.

A completely different beast compared to the Zinfandel releases, the 100% varietal 2016 Mourvèdre Cornflower Blue (aged 20 months in 50% new barrels) offers a savory, meaty style as well as loads of red and black fruits, spiced game, and dried soil nuances. Medium to full-bodied, rounded and elegant on the palate, it’s surprisingly elegant and pretty, and has a clean finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s another terrific wine from this estate.

Appealing aromas of smoked red plums, roasted strawberries, lilacs and baking spice show on the dynamic nose of this bottling from a young vineyard. There is a strong savory kick to the plate, where peppery spices are sprinkled atop mulberry pie and gingerbread flavors.
